About Location Liberation

Welcome to Location Liberation. A place for digital nomads; backpackers; long-term travelers; expats; and any one of the other labels that you would never use to describe yourself in real-life.

I’m Aaron Ramirez. In October 2012, I quit the job that I loved at the height of my career as a software developer, subsequently leaving the Silicon Valley startup world. From my experience thus far, I’ve found travel to be the great intensifier of life. I’m healthier. Braver. Went from a natural introvert to an occasional social butterfly. In short, there’s been no looking back.

Los Silos, Tenerife, Canary Islands - November, 2014
A 6th century home that I rented in Los Silos, Tenerife, within the Canary Islands.

I’ve created Location Liberation as a medium for serving those who are intent on living a location independent life.

I am sharing the tips and strategies that have allowed me to continuously travel and live in several parts of the world for the past 3 years.

I’ll be taking from my successes and failures. Backing that up with research. And mixing in a bit of my own technical know-how, dorky humor, and photography.

All for the purpose to help you Live, Work, and Create—from anywhere in the world that you choose.
